Writers under the aegis of the Society of Young Nigerian Writers (SYNW Global) have extended their warm greetings to Nigerians as the nation welcomes the New Year, 2025.

The message was contained in a press release issued by the President of the Society, Wole Adedoyin, who also unveiled the organisation’s plans for the year.

According to Wole Adedoyin, 2025 promises to be an exciting year for young and teenage writers across Nigeria. The Society is set to introduce more programs and initiatives specifically targeted at nurturing and empowering these budding talents. He emphasized the pivotal role of young writers in shaping Nigeria’s literary future.

Adedoyin noted that the Society will prioritize activities designed to inspire, educate, and mentor young writers. These will include creative writing workshops, reading sessions, literary contests, and book review programs aimed at equipping teenagers and young adults with the skills and confidence to excel in the literary field.

One of the highlights of SYNW Global’s 2025 agenda is the introduction of new digital platforms to enhance the accessibility of literary resources. Adedoyin revealed that these platforms would provide online mentorship opportunities, writing guides, and access to literary networks for young writers in urban and rural areas alike.

The Society also plans to partner with schools, libraries, and literary organizations nationwide to foster a reading and writing culture among teenagers. According to Adedoyin, this collaboration will ensure that more young people are exposed to literature and inspired to pursue careers as writers, poets, and storytellers.

Adedoyin highlighted SYNW Global’s commitment to celebrating literary excellence among young writers. He announced plans to organise annual awards and recognitions to honor outstanding works by teen and young writers, encouraging them to continue contributing to Nigeria’s literary heritage.

Reflecting on the Society’s achievements in the previous year, Adedoyin expressed gratitude to members, sponsors, and literary stakeholders who contributed to the success of SYNW Global’s programs. He praised the resilience and creativity of Nigerian writers, describing them as the backbone of the nation’s literary industry.

The President also urged parents and guardians to encourage their children to embrace reading and writing as tools for self-expression and development. He stressed that these skills are essential not only for personal growth but also for the advancement of society as a whole.

In his concluding remarks, Adedoyin expressed optimism for the year ahead, encouraging young writers to seize the opportunities provided by SYNW Global. He reiterated the Society’s commitment to supporting their literary journeys and contributing to the growth of Nigeria’s literary landscape in 2025.
