According to UK Conservative party leader Kemi Badenoch, the UK is not “a hotel” for millions of immigrants from Nigeria and other countries, but rather a place that individuals like her call home.

In her first speech of the year on Thursday, Ms. Badenoch stated that the UK can no longer afford to welcome millions of immigrants from across the world since it has made numerous mistakes in the past.

“We simply cannot take all the millions of people who want to come here from elsewhere. Our country is our home; it is not a hotel,” Ms Badenoch said.

The Tory leader, who migrated from Nigeria to the UK, insisted that immigrants who do not want to integrate into British culture should not be in the UK.

“If people arriving don’t want to integrate into British culture, they shouldn’t be here. It is not controversial to say that. And that’s why we need new leadership. It doesn’t matter what colour of government you have, these structural problems need fixing,” Ms Badenoch said.

She also described how she left her native country for the UK when she was sixteen years old, cautioning that she does not want Britain to turn into a poor nation like Nigeria, where bad governments ruin lives.

During her speech, Reform UK leader Nigel Farage made fun of Ms. Badenoch for the size of her audience.

“A total of 21 people are currently watching Kemi Badenoch’s speech on Facebook, and her YouTube stream crashed. It’s a good job she understands the digital age,” Mr Farage tweeted.

Since becoming the leader of the Conservative party, she has resisted the UK’s immigration policy while denouncing her native nation, Nigeria.
