Vice President JD Vance has asserted that President Donald Trump achieved more in five days than former President Joe Biden managed in four years.
Vance made this statement on Sunday during an interview on CBS’ Face the Nation.
According to Fox News, the Vice President emphasized that several of Trump’s initial actions in office were aimed at reducing costs for Americans.
“Prices are going to come down, but it’s going to take a little bit of time, right? The president has been president for all of five days. I think that, in those five days, he’s accomplished more than Joe Biden did in four years,” Vance said.
The report highlights that some Democrats had mocked Donald Trump over rising grocery prices after he assumed office.
One notable instance was from Rep. Eric Swalwell, D-Calif., who posted on X in early January: “I don’t care if Donald Trump wants to buy Greenland. I just want to know what he’s going to do to lower the cost of groceries.”
In response, Vice President JD Vance argued that Trump has already implemented several executive actions aimed at reducing energy costs.
Vance expressed confidence that consumers will eventually experience lower prices at the pump and in grocery stores, although he noted that these changes might take some time to materialise.
