The Federal Teaching Hospital Gombe recently received the newly appointed board chairperson, Zainab Abubakar Ibrahim, on a familiarisation visit.
PERISCOPE NIGERIA reports that Ibrahim is the first female to be appointed as chairperson among others by President Bola Tinubu. She hails from Jalingo, Taraba State.

Our correspondent gathered that she is a Chattered Accountant and Politician. She promised to bring her wealth of experience and strong commitment to enhancing healthcare services to the hospital.
In an interactive meeting with the hospital management and staff, the chairperson expressed commitments to improving healthcare service delivery and fostering excellence in accordance with the renewed hope agenda of the president.
“A healthy nation is a wealthy nation, that’s why the present government took health issues as a top priority,” she stated.


While acknowledging the critical role of the health institution in providing quality medical services, training and research, she emphasised her commitment to ensuring that the hospital operates optimally.
She urged the hospital management and staff for prayers and support to enable her render her maximum effort to discharge her promise.
The Chief Medical Director (CMD) of the Federal Teaching Hospital Gombe, Dr Yusuf Muhammad Abdullahi, outlined an overview of the hospital’s proceedure, its core functions in medical service delivery, trainings of healthcare professionals, and research advancements.
He reaffirmed the commitment of the hospital management and staff to supporting President Tinubu’s healthcare initiatives through renewed hope agenda aimed at improving service efficiency and accessibility.
He noted that Governor Inuwa Yahaya’s administration has been at the forefront of strengthening healthcare services in Gombe State.
In his own remarks, The Gombe State Commissioner for Health, Dr Habu Dahiru, reassured that, state government is committed to collating with the Federal Teaching Hospital to enhance healthcare delivery, address infrastructural challenges, and ensure that citizens of the state receive the best medical service delivery.
