Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Yahaya, has set up Ramadan palliative distribution committees to ensure seamless distribution of relief materials to residents during the holy month.
This was contained in a statement by Professor Ibrahim Njodi, Secretary to Government of Gombe State, on Friday, conveying Governor Muhammadu Yahaya’s approval.
Njodi’s statement partly read, “The development is aimed at ensuring smooth and effective distribution of the relief materials to support the residents during the holy month.”
The committees, which were appointed with immediate effect, comprise a State Coordinator, Local Government Committee Chairmen, members, and ward committee members.
Speaker of Gombe State House of Assembly, Abubakar Mohammed Luggerewo was appointed as the State Coordinator, while Local Government Coordinators include Abdulkadir Mohammed Malle (Akko LGA), Col. Abdullahi Bello (Rtd) (Balanga LGA), and Mohammed Saidu Mohamemd (Billiri LGA), among others.
“The committees will ensure that the palliative distribution reaches the most vulnerable households during the Ramadan period,” the statement added.
