The Interim Coordinator of the Obidient Movement Worldwide, Dr Tanko Yunusa, has decried the policies of the All Progressives Congress-led government, describing them as suffocating the Nigerian masses.

Speaking at the North-East Leadership Summit in Gombe, with the theme ‘The Fundamental Rights of a Nigerian Citizen,’ he emphasised the urgent need for good governance.
“We are not merely requesting—Nigeria demands good governance built on security, healthcare, economic stability, and poverty alleviation. This is the core message of Peter Obi, which has resonated with us and given birth to the Obidient Movement,” Yunusa stated.
He lamented the increasing hardship faced by Nigerians, accusing political leaders of trampling on the fundamental rights of the people.
“It is as if our leaders do not even want us to breathe. How else do you explain the lack of accountability? How do you justify the incessant increase in tariffs without reason? Nigerians can no longer afford three square meals a day. People are not even sure that if they move from Point A to Point B, they will arrive safely,” he said.
Yunusa reaffirmed the Obidient Movement’s commitment to uniting Nigerian youths from Billiri to Badagry, ensuring they recognize their shared struggles and fight for a common cause.
He called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to listen to the demands of the Nigerian people and deliver better governance, reminding him that leadership is a temporary position that should not be used to oppress the citizens.
Also speaking, Sani Abdulsalam, said the party’s 2023 candidate has what it takes to bring the country out of the quagmire, “We are in a critical condition and we know Peter Obi is serious about developing Nigeria, he has zero tolerance to tribalism, sentiment and he is capable of helping Nigeria succeed,” he added.
