Saudi Arabia reaffirmed its commitment to humanitarian causes, with the embassy noting that the initiative was organized by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief). The donation aims to support vulnerable Nigerian families while strengthening the longstanding relationship between the two nations.

The statement also quoted Mr. Al-Ghamdi expressing deep gratitude to King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed Abdulaziz Al Saud for their continuous support in providing aid to Muslims and underserved communities worldwide.

The envoy emphasized that Saudi Arabia remains dedicated to fostering Islamic solidarity and delivering relief to those in need. He further explained that this year’s distribution includes 50 tonnes of dates for Abuja and another 50 tonnes for Kano, continuing Saudi Arabia’s tradition of humanitarian assistance to Nigeria.

The embassy highlighted that this donation is part of the Kingdom’s broader mission to uplift Muslim communities, alleviate suffering, and promote unity, particularly during religious occasions like Ramadan.

The Saudi government assured Nigeria that, in collaboration with local authorities and humanitarian organizations, it would ensure the proper distribution of the dates to reach the most vulnerable families across the country.

Additionally, Mr. Al-Ghamdi reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s commitment to strengthening cooperation with Nigeria in various sectors, with a special focus on humanitarian and Islamic affairs.

“The Kingdom’s continued efforts in supporting food security and welfare initiatives exemplify its role as a global leader in charitable and humanitarian endeavours.

“Through its Vision 2030, Saudi Arabia seeks to expand its contributions to international humanitarian causes, highlighting its dedication to fostering peace, stability, and prosperity worldwide,” the statement said.

Saudi Arabia has a long history of providing humanitarian aid to countries worldwide, including Nigeria.

This donation further strengthens its commitment and highlights the deep, decades-long partnership between the two nations.
