Dear Brothers & Sisters,
The Gombe State University Alumni Association, needs our collective voices in any official activities that have plagued our association.
In my opinion I observed that some members are used to be quite, which is key to our main challenges…
After my research by using myself as a case study:
Identified Issues:
1. Financial mismanagement: We demand transparency and accountability in the management of our association’s finances.
2. Electoral irregularities: We insist on free, fair, and transparent elections, ensuring that every member has an equal opportunity to participate. (Online voting system)
3. Exclusion and marginalisation: We condemn any form of exclusion or marginalization within our association, promoting inclusivity and equal opportunities for all.
4. Abuse of power: We will not tolerate any abuse of power by association leaders, ensuring that our constitution is respected and upheld.
Call to Action:
1. The needs to be attending meetings: We urge all members to be attending or participate in any the emergency meeting/activities even on the social media platforms keeping-mute is not helping matters, some inputs or observation will help in promoting the ideal of our Alma matter “PRIMUS-INTERPERES”.
2. Demand accountability: We encourage all members to demand accountability from our association leaders, ensuring that they are transparent and responsive to our concerns.
3. Support constitutional reforms: We call on all members to support constitutional reforms that will address the identified issues and ensure our association is governed in a democratic and transparent manner.
Unity and Solidarity
We stand united and in solidarity against unconstitutional activities within our association. Together, we can restore the integrity and credibility of our association, ensuring it serves the best interests of its members and the university community.
