In a brutal midnight attack between 12:00 a.m. and 1:30 a.m. on April 14, 2025, suspected jihadists stormed Zikke community in Kwall District, Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State, killing 51 Christians, including women, children, and the elderly.

The victims, including children as young as 3 years old and elderly individuals, were reportedly killed by suspected jihadist insurgents who invaded the community in the dead of night.

The massacre has sent shockwaves across the country, reigniting concerns about rising religiously-motivated violence in Nigeria’s Middle Belt.

The Irigwe Youth Movement, through its National Publicity Secretary Joseph Chudu Yonkpa, released the full list of victims, which was also shared widely on X, formerly Twitter.

Among the dead are entire families, including young children like 4-year-old Nema Stephen and 3-year-old Jacob Moses.

The attack follows a disturbing pattern of targeted violence against predominantly Christian communities in the region, prompting calls for stronger government action and international attention.

Human rights advocates and faith-based organizations have condemned the killings, calling for justice and immediate security interventions.

Tagging key media and diplomatic handles, including @USinNigeria, and @ChristianEmerg1, many online users demanded accountability from both federal and state authorities.

As tensions remain high, survivors and community members mourn the loss of their loved ones while fearing further attacks.
