Arguably speaking, there’s no Minister who has given a political and executive interpretation to the role of the office of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory in recent times than the present occupant, former Governor Ezenwo Nyesom Wike.

He has brought to bear, the enormous power associated with the office and the extra razzmatazz it curries to bamboozle an opposition dazed with shock and awe.
The Minister of the FCT is daringly braggadocious, mouthy and admirably ambivalent. He’s equally a workaholic with enough credentials, witty but overly pugilistic.
With the rough edge of his tongue, Nyesom Wike has unnecessarily ruffled some hitherto sleeping feathers and offended hallowed quarters with his utterances and demeanour.
In the FCT, he is the Lord of the Manor and he carried on as such a one, without pretence or equivocation. In his Party, the PDP, he has become a clog in their wheel of progress and he has held on tenaciously to what he believes are his definitions of loyalty, justice and vendetta.
In his South-South State of Rivers, he is the ubiquitous Sheriff in and out of town, with a political demagoguery that must be respected and worshipped, willy-nilly.
So much for one man, whose definition of Democracy is unknown to political philosophy or political thoughts. Yet, he exhibits raw power and grit, galavanting every space that calls for his attention.
With the backup of the Federal might and its paraphernalia of office, Wike carries on like the vice-regent, bestriding the corridors of political power only subject to the new-found Godfather. Little wonder he can afford to utter careless words in such a careless way without restraint.
His uncensored utterances made during the media chat on Friday stirred massive reactions from Nigerians who were shocked at such brazen audacity. He publicly declared that his desire was to remove the embattled Governor Sim Fubara but for President Tinubu who “saved him”, yet no one has called him to order, not even his Party, PDP or his abode, APC.
The FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, has given democracy and political power a novel name. To him, Democracy is using any means to secure votes for your benefactor in previous or future elections while remaining a useful tool to destabilize any contrary force against this desire. He gave example of how he funded the Abuja Municipal Area Council Election and how he prevail on the present Chairman of the Council to decamp to not PDP, his known Party but APC.
To him, Political power entails getting the nod of the power that be to run rampage and carelessly, to satisfy a paymaster with an unquenchable ambition to deliver on set targets. Nigerians are truly in for a macabre dance.
