The Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has rescinded the invitation earlier extended to the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi.
However, the police chief instructed the Kano State Police Command to obtain the monarch’s statement within the state concerning the incident.
Egbetokun, through police spokesman Olumuyiwa Adejobi, explained that the decision to withdraw the invitation became necessary following interventions from key stakeholders in the country.
