Human Rights Activist, Aisha Yesufu, has condemned the criminalisation of spraying Naira notes by the Nigerian government.
She described such a decision as one of the dumbest things ever.
In a post shared on her X handle, she stated that spraying naira notes gave colour to ceremonies and was even replicated in other climes.
According to her, Yesufu maintained that someone just decided to make such hasty decisions because it is against their beliefs.
Her post reads, “Criminalizing spray of Naira notes is one of the dumbest things ever. None of it is tainted or spoilt. The monies was still packed up and used.
“It gave colour to ceremonies and was such a Nigerian thing that was being replicated in other climes. Why stop it?
“Someone out there decided because it was against their beliefs so it had to be stopped, she concluded.
