A delegation from Kushi District in Shongom Local Government Area has paid a thank-you visit to Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, and the Secretary to the Government of Gombe State, Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, in appreciation for the administration’s participation in the 2025 Annual Kushi Cultural Festival and its ongoing developmental efforts in the area.

Led by the Chairman of the Kushi Development Association, Ahmed John, the delegation commended the Governor for his inclusive governance and for extending development to rural communities such as Kushi. Other members of the delegation included Alkali Usman, Thomas Inuwa Dhalum, and Samuel Audu, who all gave goodwill messages.
They noted that the success of this year’s cultural festival was largely due to the government’s presence, particularly the high-powered delegation led by the SSG, describing it as a strong show of solidarity and cultural respect.
“The presence of the state government, led by the SSG, at our cultural festival gave us great encouragement. It shows that this administration truly cares about preserving and promoting our heritage,” said Ahmed John.
The delegation also acknowledged the government’s commitment to addressing the perennial water scarcity in the area and appealed for further interventions in education and other basic social amenities.
Expressing their gratitude, the community leaders praised Professor Njodi for his longstanding support to Kushi, noting that his contributions had not gone unnoticed.
“It is because of your unwavering support to the Kushi Community that we unanimously agreed to confer on you an award and a traditional title of Zannan Kushi, as a mark of our deep appreciation,” one of the leaders said.
In his response, Professor Njodi, who spoke on behalf of Governor Inuwa Yahaya, thanked the Kushi delegation for the visit and their kind gesture. He assured them of the government’s continued commitment to their development.
“I deeply appreciate this honor and assure you that the Inuwa Yahaya-led administration will continue to prioritize development in all parts of the state, including Kushi,” Prof. Njodi said.
He fondly recalled the close relationship between his late father and the current District Head of Kushi, adding that he now sees the traditional leader as a father figure.
Professor Njodi urged the people of Kushi to remain united, focused, and peaceful in order to attract and sustain development in their community.
The visit concluded with prayers and well-wishes for continued peace and progress in Kushi District.
