One good turn, they say, deserves another. This was the scenario that played out when Mr. Samaila Baba, a former Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party in Kaltungo Local Government Area, led party stalwarts, religious leaders, and family members to the office of the Secretary to Government of State to express appreciation for securing a job placement for his daughter at the Federal Teaching Hospital, Gombe.
Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Alhaji Mamuda Maiyadi, Rev. Luka Zakka, Hajiya Maimuna Idi, and Mohammed Yusuf, popularly known as Malam Pindiga, took turns to commend the magnanimity of Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi in facilitating the employment.
They described the gesture as a testament to Professor Njodi’s unwavering commitment to the welfare of the people, particularly the youth.
The speakers noted that since his tenure as Vice Chancellor of the University of Maiduguri, Professor Njodi has consistently supported students of Gombe State origin with admissions and job opportunities.
They offered prayers for Almighty God to reward Professor Njodi abundantly and to bless Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya for his wise decision in appointing him as Secretary to the State Government (SSG).
In his response, Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi expressed gratitude to Almighty God for using him as a channel to bring joy to the lives of others. He also appreciated the delegation for acknowledging his efforts, describing their visit as both heartwarming and encouraging.
He emphasized that the youth remain at the core of his priorities, hence his constant efforts to seize every opportunity to support them.
Reflecting on their youthful days, Professor Njodi recounted how Mr. Samaila Baba had supported him and their group of friends. He used the occasion to thank Baba for his past kindness and enduring friendship.
He also expressed deep appreciation to Governor Inuwa Yahaya for the opportunity to serve in his administration, a platform that has enabled him to continue making meaningful contributions to society.
