The Gombe State Water Board has announced a temporary disruption in water supply following a windstorm that damaged the dedicated power line supplying the Dadinkowa Water Treatment Plant.

According to the Board, the incident has directly affected water production and supply to the state capital and surrounding areas.

In a press statement issued on Tuesday, the General Manager of the Gombe State Water Board said the damage occurred as a result of a severe windstorm that hit parts of the state.

“Our dedicated power line to the Dadinkowa Water Treatment Facility was impacted by the storm, which has unfortunately disrupted our ability to produce and distribute water,” the board’s statement partly read.

The statement added that technical teams have been deployed to the affected site to carry out emergency repairs. “Our engineers are currently on-site working tirelessly to restore the power supply. Once repairs are completed, we will ramp up water production and resume normal supply to the public,” he said.

The Water Board appealed for public understanding and patience during the repair period, assuring residents that every effort is being made to minimise the duration of the outage.

“We understand the inconvenience this may cause and sincerely appreciate the patience and cooperation of the public as we work to resolve the issue,” the statement added.
