28 police officers attached to the Gombe State Government House on Monday were decorated with their new ranks following their recent promotion by the Nigeria Police Force.

The decoration ceremony took place at the office of the Secretary to Government of Gombe State, Government House, Gombe.
The officers, who were elevated from the ranks of Corporal to Sergeant and Sergeant to Inspector, were decorated by the SGS, Professor Ibrahim Njodi, on behalf of Governor Muhammadu Yahaya.
In his remarks, Yahaya congratulated the newly promoted officers and commended their unwavering commitment to duty.
“I want to sincerely congratulate all of you for attaining this milestone in your careers. Promotion is not a right but a privilege earned through hard work, loyalty, and discipline.
“Your elevation today is a testimony of the trust and confidence the Nigeria Police Force has in your ability to serve with integrity,” he said.
The event, which drew relatives and well-wishers of the honourees, was marked by moments of pride and celebration.
Also in attendance were the Chief Security Officer to the Government House, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in charge of Pantami Division, CSP Umar Sanda, and the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Gombe State Police Command, DSP Buhari Abdullahi, alongside other senior police officials.
Speaking to journalists, one of the newly promoted officers, expressed gratitude to the Police Force and the state government for the recognition. “This promotion is a motivation for us to redouble our efforts in service delivery and protection of lives and property,” James Adamu said.
The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Buhari Abdullahi, said the event reflects the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to rewarding excellence and boosting morale among personnel.
“The command remains committed to improving the welfare and professional development of its officers while working tirelessly to maintain peace and security across the state,” Abdullahi stated.
