The Secretary to Government of Gombe State, Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, says the administration of Governor Inuwa Yahaya, is committed towards complementing the efforts of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency NDLEA to combat the flow of illicit drugs and other substances injurious to the society.






The SGS made this position known on Thursday when he granted audience to the newly posted commander of the agency CN Maijama’a Mohammed in his office.
Njodi who noted that Gombe State is gradually assuming the status of a transit route for drugs, challenged the newly posted commander and his team to brace up for the new normal.
He tasked the NDLEA in the state not to shirk away from arresting and prosecuting anyone dealing in drugs as the effects of such practices on the society is far reaching.
The SGS assured the NDLEA State commander that the administration of Governor Yahaya places special premium on taming the trafficking and use of illicit drugs hence, the continuous support of the Gombe State Government.
Earlier, the newly posted commander of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency Maijama’a Mohammed said he was at the SGS’ office to formerly introduce himself to the state government.
He expressed gratitude to the administration of Governor Yahaya for constantly providing support to the agency, pledging to deploy available assets to combat the menace of drug abuse in the State.
