The Jos Electricity Distribution Plc on Tuesday announced a scheduled power outage on Thursday, July 10, 2025, to allow for routine preventive maintenance by the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) at the Jos Transmission Station.
According to a statement issued by the Acting Head of Corporate Communications, Saratu Dauda, the outage will affect the 330kV Lafia-Jos Line 2 (2LFA-JOS2) and will take place between 9:00 am and 2:00 pm.
“The maintenance is necessary to carry out routine checks on the line bay equipment, calibrate, and test the relay functionality,” Dauda said. “This is to ensure all equipment is operating optimally and can be safely restored to normal service.”
Dauda noted that during the exercise, about 7.5 megawatts of load will be briefly interrupted and transferred to Lafia-Jos Line 1 (2LFA-JOS1) to minimise disruption and maintain stability.
“We sincerely appreciate our customers’ understanding and patience during this period,” she added. “These proactive steps are essential to improving the reliability of power supply across our network.”
