The Chairman Gombe State House of Assembly Service Commission Alhaji Suleiman Abubakar, says the Commission has been working to strengthen the legislative arm of government for the effective and efficient discharge of their constitutional responsibilities.
Alhaji Suleiman Abubakar made the assertion while speaking at an award ceremony of members of the Commission organised by the Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria (PASAN) at the Commission premises Monday.
He appreciated Governor Mohammadu Inuwa Yahaya for selecting individuals with impeccable character, patriotism and commitment to manage the commission and bring it at per with what obtain in other parts of the country.
The Chairman further appreciated the leadership of PASAN branch of the Commission for its foresight to recognise their contributions in repositioning the Commission for better services.
The Chairman of Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria (PASAN) Comrade Abdulmalik Adamu Aliyu had earlier informed the gathering that the award ceremony was put together to recognise and appreciate the Chairman and members of the Commission for their efforts in improving Staff welfare especially the actualisation of the Consolidated Salary Structure for members.
In their goodwill messages a Permanent Member Alhaji Nasiru Haruna and a past Part time member and now Deputy Chief of Staff to Governor Inuwa Yahaya Alhaji Abubakar Dantata appreciated the leadership of PASAN for the honour assuring the association of continued contribution to the progress of the Commission.
The Secretary of the Commission Hajiya Aishatu Hari Abdulkadiri, lauded the commitment of the leadership of the Association and the entire staff for their support to the overall achievement of the Commission.
Those honoured include Chairman of the Commission Suleiman Abubakar, permanent members, Nasiru Haruna, Danladi Usman Umar, Eglah Idris a one-time part time member, Adamu Abubakar Kumo, Sulei Ahmed Ubalele, Abubakar Dantata also a one time member and Secretary to the Commission Hajiya Aishatu Hari Abdulkadir.
