Apostle Bolaji O. Akinyemi, a prominent nation builder and spiritual leader, has issued a strong admonition to President Bola Tinubu, warning him against any ambitions to extend his tenure beyond 2027.
The warning, which he described as a direct message from God, was made public in an open letter released on August 5, 2025—his birthday, obtained by our correspondent on Wednesday.

Speaking under what he described as a divine burden, Apostle Akinyemi said he was moved to deliver the message after seeking spiritual clarity at Camp Judah, Igbesa, in Ogun State.
The letter partly read, “This is not the word of man, but a warning from the Almighty God, who rules in the affairs of nations.

“You ascended to the presidency not solely by strategy or political genius, but by divine permissive will. The Lord allowed it—for a purpose. But let no man mistake permission for approval.”
Apostle Akinyemi warned President Tinubu that his mandate was not an endorsement for personal political consolidation but a divine opportunity to restore justice and hope in Nigeria.
“You were given four years—not to entrench yourself, but to restore justice, revive hope, and repair the ruins of a broken nation.
“Your reign has seen the Nigerian people—created in the image of God—reduced to animals in survival. They are dehumanised, disregarded, and driven to beastly extremes in their quest for food, fuel, and freedom,” be said.
The Apostle cited numerous biblical scriptures, warning that any attempts to manipulate power structures or delay democratic transition would face divine opposition.
“Whatever you gather outside of God’s divine order shall scatter,” he quoted from Isaiah 31:1.“Any veiled or open ambition to extend your tenure beyond divine timing is rebellion, not leadership. It is presumption, not obedience.”
He called on the President to distance himself from sycophants and align with “Heaven’s timetable before it is too late.”
“Abandon the path of personal ambition. Abhor the counsel of flatterers who feed your ego but not your destiny,” he wrote.
Apostle Akinyemi further claimed that the Lord had revealed His choice for Nigeria’s leadership in 2027—a man described as “a healer, a restorer, and a rebuilder of ancient ruins.”
“The Lord has said expressly: His man for 2027 shall be a man, not a beast—a man who shall reconcile ethnic nations into one tribe of men and women,” he said.
In a final caution, he reminded President Tinubu that political power is not an entitlement but a sacred trust.
“Do not provoke the Lord to remove your candlestick,” Akinyemi warned.
“Power is not a throne. It is a trust. Leadership is not entitlement. It is service.”
The Apostle signed the open letter as a “Democrat and Servant of Truth,” affirming that his intentions were patriotic and spiritual—not partisan.
“May God’s mercy find you still,” he concluded.
