Ahead of the 12th session of the North-East Governors’ Forum, Secretaries to Governments of States from the region, along with members of the technical working group and the office of the Director-General of the forum, are meeting in Jalingo, Taraba State, to set the agenda for the governors.


The meeting, chaired by the Gombe State SSG and Chairman of the North-East SGS Forum, Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, is expected to shape discussions for the governors’ meeting scheduled for Saturday, August 30, 2025, in Jalingo.
In his welcome address, Prof. Njodi expressed confidence in the leadership qualities and capacity of the governors within the zone.
He decried the lingering security challenges confronting the North East but expressed optimism that the region would emerge stronger.
Njodi also commended the forum for its unwavering commitment to the growth and development of the subregion, urging members to share information and ideas that could benefit the collective effort to move the North East forward.
Earlier, the Secretary to the Taraba State Government, Barr. Gebon Timothy Ketsps, who was represented, welcomed participants to the state, describing Taraba as a land known for its hospitality and openness to all men and women of goodwill.
The meeting continues as delegates brainstorm on key priorities ahead of the governors’ session.
