The Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Yahaya, has donated a bull to corps members undergoing the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) orientation exercise at the Amada Camp.
The gesture, described as part of the governor’s tradition of magnanimity, was aimed at enabling corps members celebrate the “Inuwa Yahaya Weekend,” a camp-wide event traditionally held nationwide on the last weekend of the orientation course.

The celebration, which coincided with the NYSC cultural carnival, on Saturday featured displays of music, dance, drama and cultural artefacts.
Represented by his deputy, Dr Manassah Jatau, Governor Yahaya said the donation was his way of showing support to the corps members and appreciating their service to the nation.
“I want you all to feel at home here in Gombe. The state government is committed to your welfare during your stay,” Jatau conveyed on behalf of the governor.
In her remarks, the Gombe State Coordinator of the NYSC, Chinwe Nwachuku, expressed appreciation to the governor for his continued support.
“On behalf of the Director General and the entire NYSC family, we sincerely thank His Excellency for donating a bull to the corps members. We are also grateful for the numerous other interventions and support his administration has extended to NYSC in the state,” she said.







Corps members were treated to a variety of meals as part of the weekend celebration, including fried rice and coleslaw for Saturday’s lunch, while Sunday featured watermelon alongside the usual jollof rice and chicken.
The atmosphere at the Amada camp was said to be lively as corps members engaged in cultural festivities and merry-making.
