The Gombe State University (GSU) Alumni Association has congratulated Professor Sani Ahmed Yauta, on his confirmation as the substantive Vice Chancellor of the university by the institution’s Visitor, Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya.

In a congratulatory message, the National President of the Alumni Association, Dr Malam Buhari Magaji, described Professor Yauta’s appointment as “a well-deserved recognition of his exceptional leadership skills and unwavering commitment to academic excellence.”

He added, “As Acting Vice Chancellor, Professor Yauta demonstrated remarkable vision in advancing scholarship, innovative research, and strategic partnerships. We are confident that under his stewardship, Gombe State University will witness greater unity, growth, and global relevance.”

Professor Yauta, who previously served as Director of Academic Planning and Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academics), played a key role in strengthening the institution’s academic foundation and positioning it for growth.

Stakeholders across the state have also welcomed his appointment. Youth O’Clock Nigeria, Gombe State chapter, in its own message of felicitation, prayed for “wisdom, strength, and success” for the new Vice Chancellor.

The Alumni Association expressed optimism that Professor Yauta’s leadership will further foster innovation and inclusivity, noting his plans to improve infrastructure and enhance accessibility for persons with disabilities on campus.

“We pledge our total support and cooperation to ensure that his tenure is marked by remarkable achievements that will make the university a true pride of Gombe State,” Dr. Magaji said.
