The Coalition of Youths and Students Group in Taraba on Thursday endorsed Governor Agbu Kefas for a second term.
At a press conference held in Jalingo, the group also passed a vote of confidence in the governor, noting that his administration’s transformational drive has placed Taraba on the global map of development and recognition.

The coalition, led by Shedrach Irimiya Gani Tsoken (Taraba Tracker for Good Governance), Gabriel Anigya Meshack (NUTASS President), and Jamila Mohammed (Taraba Women Movement), said the Kefas-led government was laying the foundation to unlock the state’s economic potential, attract both capital and human investment for long-term growth, and make Taraba the economic hub of Nigeria.
“Governor Agbu Kefas is laying a solid foundation required to transform Taraba into a prosperous and sustainable state. The immediate need for long-term investments in human capital and institutional reform is a deliberate move to ensure Taraba becomes the economic hub of Nigeria.
“The introduction of free education has removed the financial barriers that, for years, kept many children out of school. This visionary approach also demonstrates the governor’s commitment to building future leaders,” the group stated.
According to the coalition, the Kefas administration’s commitment to security has boosted agricultural production, which had previously declined due to insecurity, thereby lifting Taraba out of the poverty index list of states.
“The improved security of lives and property has given farmers, traders, and investors the confidence to pursue their livelihoods in Taraba. This development has boosted not just agricultural production but has also changed the narrative of Taraba being ranked among poverty index states,” they said.
The group also highlighted TARAVEST, which they said showcased the state’s vast economic potential and inspired investor confidence.
They further commended the establishment of the Taraba State Youth Development Agency, designed to safeguard youth welfare, amplify young voices, and provide a structural avenue for youth participation in governance.
“While there are widespread complaints over infrastructure, we call on Tarabans to consider the administration’s strategy for long-term development, which is already impacting positively on citizens, as a global best practice,” the coalition added.
Concluding, the youth leaders passed a vote of confidence in Governor Kefas and called for his re-election in the 2027 governorship election, stressing that his developmental strides should be consolidated to “build a Taraba that would make waves on the global economic space for both capital and human transformation.”
