The Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Gombe State Command, Commandant Jibrin Idris, has embarked on an operational tour of NSCDC Divisional Offices across the state, with stops in Nafada, Funakaye, and Kwami Local Government Areas.
The visit, according to the Corps Public Relations Officer SC Buhari Saad, is part of efforts to strengthen synergy with local authorities and enhance security operations in the state.
On arrival in the three local councils, Idris was received by the Chairmen—Hon. Babangida Adamu Jigawa of Nafada, Hon. Shuibu Abdulrahman Adamu of Funakaye, and Hon. Dr. Ahmed Wali Doho of Kwami. Also present were the Area Commander, Gombe North, Assistant Commandant of Corps Moses Vue, Divisional Officers, and heads of sister security agencies.
The council chairmen, in separate remarks, commended the NSCDC for its sustained efforts in maintaining peace and security, particularly through collaboration with other security agencies.
Commandant Idris praised the local authorities for their initiatives in curbing crime, noting that their support had contributed to a marked reduction in criminal activities in the areas. He expressed gratitude for the warm reception and assured residents of the Corps’ continued commitment to protecting lives and property.
He reminded the chairmen that one of the Corps’ core mandates is the protection of Critical National Assets and Infrastructure (CNAI). He urged them to provide actionable intelligence to help safeguard facilities against vandalism and sabotage, stressing their strategic importance to national security.
As part of the tour, Idris paid courtesy visits to the Emir of Nafada, His Royal Highness Muhammadu Dadum Hamza, and the Emir of Funakaye, His Royal Highness Muhammed Yakubu Kwairanga, where he received royal blessings.
Addressing officers and men of the Divisions, the Commandant commended their dedication to duty and urged them to maintain professionalism, discipline, and commitment in the discharge of their responsibilities.
