The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has announced a minor shake-up in its workforce following resolutions reached at the 14th sitting of its Board, held in the last week of August 2025.
The development was contained in a press release signed by the Deputy Director, Information and Public Relations, Fatima Sanda Usara, who stated that in line with the Board’s directive, the Commission’s executive arm has effected the reposting of pool officers back to their respective Ministries, Departments, and Agencies with immediate effect. The affected officers were issued their letters on Thursday, September 4, 2025.
According to the statement, the Board’s decision was aimed at eliminating redundancy and repositioning the Commission for more effective and efficient service delivery. The move is also expected to motivate staff towards higher performance.
In furtherance of its reforms, the Board approved the promotion of deserving officers and endorsed capacity-building programmes for the entire staff to equip them with the requisite skills to achieve the Commission’s objectives.
The Chairman of the Commission, Professor Abdullahi Saleh Usman, assured that the 5th Board remains committed to building an effective and resilient workforce dedicated to serving Nigerian pilgrims. He added that NAHCON would continue to introduce reforms to enhance productivity and service delivery.
