The Secretary to Government of Gombe State, Professor Ibrahim Njodi, has assured members of boards of government establishments in the state that the administration of Governor Muhammadu Yahaya, is open to their suggestions and recommendations aimed at ensuring effective and efficient service delivery.

Njodi gave the assurance on Wednesday when he received the Chairman and members of the Board of the Gombe Media Corporation, led by Abdullahi Jalo, in his office.
He noted that Governor Yahaya’s administration is committed to revolutionising the Gombe Media Corporation, hence the ongoing digital transformation of the state-owned broadcasting house.
The SGS explained that despite competing demands from other sectors, the state government would not relent in its efforts to reposition GMC for better service delivery.
According to him, through reforms at the station, GMC’s television signal is now received in over 84 countries worldwide, a feat he described as “unthinkable prior to the present administration.”
Professor Njodi charged the management and board members of GMC to pay special attention to the issue of staffing, particularly ensuring that only qualified personnel are engaged in the broadcast service.
Earlier in his remarks, the GMC Board Chairman, Abdullahi Jalo, said they were at the Government House to express their gratitude to Governor Yahaya for finding them worthy of appointment.
He also commended the SGS for his wise counsel and continuous guidance, describing Njodi’s commitment to effective governance as “legendary.”
Jalo further disclosed that of the 160 staff currently working at GMC, only 100 are on the government’s payroll, while 60 remain as casual workers.
While appreciating the ongoing transformation at the station, the Board Chairman appealed for government intervention to upgrade GMC to a standard comparable with other international broadcast stations across the world.
