The Gombe State Police Command on Sunday announced that it will commence full enforcement of motor vehicle tinted glass permit regulations on Thursday, October 2, 2025.
In a statement issued by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Buhari Abdullahi, the police urged motorists across the state to take note of the directive and ensure compliance in order to avoid running afoul of the law.
“The good people of Gombe State are hereby informed that enforcement of motor vehicle tinted glass permits will commence on 2nd October, 2025. This notice is for the awareness and compliance of members of the public,” Abdullahi stated.
He explained that the measure is in line with existing traffic and security regulations, stressing that tinted glasses without proper authorization pose a security concern as they could be exploited by criminal elements to conceal illegal activities.
The Command urged motorists who have yet to obtain their permits to do so immediately, adding that officers have been directed to strictly enforce the law once the deadline takes effect.
DSP Abdullahi assured residents that the enforcement exercise would be carried out professionally, with respect for the rights of law-abiding citizens.
“The Command appeals for cooperation from the general public as this is aimed at enhancing safety and security for everyone in the state,” he added.
