Troops of the 6 Brigade, Nigerian Army, on Saturday raided a suspected bandit camp in Wukari Local Government Area of Taraba State and recovered a cache of arms.
Lt. Umar Muhammad, acting Assistant Director, Army Public Relations of the Brigade, disclosed this in a statement, noting that the operation followed a cordon-and-search mission at Ikyaior village, carried out on the basis of credible intelligence.
According to him, troops had received information that a notorious criminal, Mr Terhemen Nzagha, also known as Full Fire, was allegedly harbouring suspected armed criminals at Sabon-Gida Leke and Ikyaior village, along the Benue–Taraba border. The troops subsequently moved in to neutralise the threat.
“Upon arrival, the troops conducted a thorough search of the area. Although no suspects were found at the location, several items were recovered,” Lt. Muhammad stated.
He explained that the items recovered included five Special Forces face caps, three AK-47 magazines, three FN rifle magazines, three rifle slings, two FN rifle breech blocks and slides, one AK-47 firing mechanism, two FN rifle stocks, two FN rifle springs, one mini-telescopic sight, one AK-47 rifle butt, one FN rifle bag, one badminton bag, two charms, and one flashlight.
The Commander, 6 Brigade Nigerian Army / Sector 3 Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS), Brigadier General Kingsley Chidiebere Uwa, commended the troops for their swift response, professionalism, and commitment to duty.
He further assured the public that the Brigade would remain vigilant, proactive, and resolute in sustaining ongoing operations aimed at ridding Taraba State of criminal elements.

General Uwa also urged residents to continue supporting security agencies with credible and timely information, stressing that such collaboration remains vital to consolidating peace and security across Taraba State and its environs.
