The Gombe Network of Civil Society Organisations (GONET) has expressed deep shock and sadness over the passing of Col. Abdullahi Bello (rtd), Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Gombe State, who died in a tragic motor accident along the Malam Sidi Gombe road.
PERISCOPE NIGERIA reports that Bello alongside his Police orderly Sergeant Adamu Hussaini, died in the crash.

They were returning from North-East Regional Consultation on the Development of a National Disarmament, Demobilisation and Reintegration (DRR), workshop.
According to a condolence message signed by Ambassador Ibrahim Yusuf, Chairman, GONET, the deceased was patriotic and honourable in his service to the state.
The statement partly read, “We are deeply saddened by the news of Col. Bello’s passing. He was a patriotic son of Gombe, a courageous officer, and a dedicated public servant who devoted his life to ensuring the safety and peace of our dear state.”
The statement noted that Col. Bello’s death is a loss not only to his immediate family and the Gombe State Government but also to the entire citizens of Gombe State, who have benefited immensely from his exemplary service, discipline, and leadership, adding that his contributions to the state’s internal security and home affairs will be greatly missed.
“We pray that Almighty Allah forgives his shortcomings, comforts his family, and grants him Aljannat Firdaus,” Ambassador Yusuf added.
The GONET extended its condolences to the family of the deceased, the Gombe State Government, and the people of Gombe State.
