The Secretary to Government of Gombe State, Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, has reaffirmed the readiness of the state government to partner with the Industrial Training Fund (ITF) in equipping citizens with relevant vocational and technical skills to boost productivity and economic growth.

Professor Njodi gave the assurance on Thursday when he received the newly posted North-East Zonal Director of the ITF, Stephen A. Ivarave, in his office.
The SGS commended the Fund for establishing a Zonal Office in Gombe, describing the move as both strategic and economically beneficial to the people of the state. He said the presence of the ITF in Gombe would strengthen efforts aimed at human capital development and job creation.
Professor Njodi informed the ITF delegation that Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya’s administration is currently working to complete several legacy projects, including the multi-billion-naira Industrial Park, the International Cattle Market, and the ultra-modern Abattoir. He urged the ITF to explore possible collaboration opportunities within these projects and invited the Zonal Director to visit the sites.
Njodi also directed the State Director of the ITF to formally communicate to the government—through the Office of the SSG—specific areas where the Fund would require support or intervention to enhance its operations.
Earlier in his remarks, the North-East Zonal Director of the ITF, Mr. Stephen Ivarave, said he was at the SSG’s office to formally introduce himself and seek collaboration with the Gombe State Government to enable the Fund effectively carry out its statutory mandate of training Nigerians in various vocational skills.
Mr. Ivarave commended Governor Inuwa Yahaya’s administration for its numerous developmental initiatives across the state and expressed the Fund’s readiness to complement government efforts in the area of youth empowerment and skills acquisition.
He also used the occasion to commiserate with the government and people of Gombe State over the recent passing of the Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, praying to Allah to grant him Aljannatul Firdausi.
