The Gombe State Police Command has decorated seven of its officers who were recently promoted to new ranks, in a ceremony held at the State Police Headquarters, Gombe.
The event was presided over by the Commissioner of Police, CP Bello Yahaya, who performed the decoration on behalf of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, on Thursday
Among the newly promoted officers are ACP Nasiru A. Egga, Officer in Charge of Police Clinic, Bajoga; CSP M.G. Lassa, Divisional Police Officer, Pindiga Division; CSP Ibrahim Dah, Officer in Charge, Central Motor Traffic Department (MTD); CSP Abdullahi Jega, Officer in Charge, Provost, 34 PMF Squadron; SP Ali Muhammad Ali, Unit Commander, 34 PMF; SP Hosea Alfred, Unit Commander, 34 PMF; and SP Sulaiman Muhammad, attached to the Police Clinic, Bajoga.

Speaking during the ceremony, CP Yahaya congratulated the newly promoted officers and commended them for their dedication and service to the Nigeria Police Force.
“On behalf of the Inspector General of Police, I congratulate you all for this well-deserved promotion,” he said. “Promotion comes with greater responsibility, and I urge you to remain professional, disciplined, and committed to your duties. You must justify the confidence reposed in you by the Nigeria Police Force.”
The Commissioner further reminded the officers that the promotion signifies both recognition of past performance and a call to higher service.
“The Force expects you to rededicate yourselves to the core values of integrity, courage, and service,” he added.
In his vote of thanks, ACP Nasiru Egga, speaking on behalf of the newly promoted officers, expressed appreciation to the Inspector General of Police and the Commissioner of Police for their continued guidance and support.
“We are deeply grateful to the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, and to our Commissioner of Police, CP Bello Yahaya, for their encouragement and confidence in us,” Egga said. “We assure the leadership of the Force that we will uphold its ethics, remain loyal, and contribute meaningfully to the peace and security of Gombe State and Nigeria at large.”
