Participants of the National Defence College (NDC), Nigeria — the nation’s premier institution for advanced training in security and defence management — are currently in Gombe State on a study tour.

The participants, who are members of Course 34, are in the state to study how the government is harnessing its resources for industrial development.
As part of their tour, the team visited the Dadin Kowa Water Treatment Plant, the Dadin Kowa Dam, the Hydro Power Plant, the Muhammadu Buhari Industrial Park, and the Gombe Local Government Area.
At each location, the participants were received and briefed by relevant officials on the conception, execution, and economic objectives of the various projects.
During a visit to the Gombe Local Government Secretariat, the council chairman, Barr. Sani Ahmadu Haruna, highlighted Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya’s commitment to laying a solid foundation for industrial growth through the provision of critical infrastructure such as water supply, power, roads, education, and healthcare.
Earlier, the team lead, Brigadier General Olumide Adeleke Ojo, said the study tour was designed to equip participants with a broader understanding of governance, particularly in the area of resource management for the benefit of citizens.
He commended Governor Yahaya for his political will in embarking on legacy projects that promote sustainable socio-economic growth and development in the state.
Brigadier General Ojo also lauded the Gombe Local Government Chairman for his pragmatic approach to governance and community development.
The highlight of the visit was the presentation of an award of recognition to Barr. Sani Ahmadu Haruna for his outstanding leadership as ALGON Chairman and his developmental strides in Gombe Local Government Area.
In his response, Barr. Sani expressed gratitude to the visiting military officers, noting that the recognition would further motivate him to redouble his efforts in service to the people.
