The academic community in Gombe State on Saturday converged on the Haruna Kadir Auditorium of Gombe State University for the public presentation of Dynamics of Educational Administration and Planning, a new book authored by the institution’s Vice Chancellor, Prof. Sani Yauta.

The event, was chaired by the Deputy Governor of Gombe State, Dr Manassah Jatau, who commended the author for what he described as a bold intellectual contribution to the advancement of educational scholarship.
Quoting Ecclesiastes 9:11, he remarked that his selection as chairman of the occasion was by “time and chance,” despite the presence of many qualified personalities.
The deputy governor praised Yauta for his diligence despite the burdens of administrative leadership, adding
“The demands of running a university are enormous, yet he has found time to document knowledge. This should inspire other academics to write more. Too many have abandoned book writing, and we must revive that culture.”

He urged the audience to support authors, emphasising that books serve as institutional memory and enduring tools for knowledge-building.
In his goodwill message, the Chief of Staff, Government House, Alhaji Abubakar Inuwa Kari, applauded the Vice Chancellor’s academic industry and announced a donation of ₦2 million on behalf of the Gombe State Government.
The Chief Launcher, Architect Yunusa Yakubu Lubell, Chairman of Lubell Group of Companies, represented by Quantity Surveyor Wasiu Ganiyu, described Prof. Yauta as “a name synonymous with scholarship and national development.” He purchased 1,000 copies of the book for ₦3.5 million, noting that the work offers “relevant and indispensable insights for students and administrators.”
The book reviewer, Prof. Oluwasanmi Adepoju, said the 11-chapter publication provides both conceptual clarity and practical guidance rooted in Nigerian educational realities.
“Chapter One lays the conceptual foundation,” he explained. “Chapters Two and Three explore classical theories, while Chapters Four to Seven address leadership, discipline, guidance, and behavioural issues in institutions.”
He added that Chapters Eight to Ten illuminate the legal and regulatory frameworks guiding education in Nigeria, while Chapter Eleven explores “the fast-growing impact of artificial intelligence on educational planning and administration.”
Prof. Adepoju described the book as “a valuable roadmap for practitioners, policymakers, scholars, and students seeking a deeper understanding of educational management in Nigeria.”
Also speaking, the Vice Chancellor of Federal University Kashere, Prof. Umaru Pate, praised the author for demonstrating both “aptitude and attitude,” saying the publication will benefit generations of administrators.
Former GSU Vice Chancellor, Prof. Aliyu El-nafaty, also commended Prof. Yauta for documenting his experience, calling the effort “a landmark contribution to educational administration.”
The Chairman of Gombe Local Government and ALGON Chairman, Barr. Sani Haruna, pledged ₦2 million on behalf of all Local Government Chairmen in the state.
Responding, Prof. Yauta thanked the deputy governor for honouring the invitation and chairing the ceremony. He expressed gratitude to dignitaries, academics, students, and donors, noting that their presence showed the value placed on knowledge and educational development.
“This book was written to contribute meaningfully to scholarship and to the practice of educational administration,” he said. “I pray that God blesses everyone who has supported this work.”
The Chairman of the Organising Committee, Prof. Mohammed Gurama Dukku, also appreciated the Deputy Governor, special guests, staff, and students for making the event a success. He commended the author for his commitment to academic excellence and wished all attendees safe journeys home.
