Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Yahaya, on Monday commiserated with the families and the Awak community over the tragic loss of their loved ones in a ghastly motor accident.

Our correspondent reports that the incident occurred recently when some youths from Awak District were returning home after a football novelty match in Bambam.
Representing the governor, Secretary to Government of Gombe State, Professor Ibrahim Njodi, alongside other government officials, visited Kunge-Awak in Kaltungo Local Government Area to sympathise with the families.

He described the loss of the young persons as sad and devastating, calling on the bereaved families to take solace in the reality that death is an inevitable end for all mortals.
The reminded the mourners that “as people of faith, it is instructive to note that from God we came and unto Him shall we return,” praying for God to comfort the families and grant the deceased eternal rest.

He informed the people of Kunge that the government is deeply touched by the tragic incident, given its devastating impact on the state and the nation at large.
Reacting to the visit on behalf of the bereaved families, the District Head of Awak, Alhaji Suleiman Hamza, expressed gratitude to the governor for identifying with them in their moment of sorrow.
The Chairman of Kaltungo LGA, Iliya Suleiman, was present in Kunge Village to receive the government delegation.
Special prayers were offered for the repose of the deceased and for God’s comfort upon the bereaved families during the visit.
