The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chairmanship candidate for Lau Local Government Area in the November 8 Taraba State local government elections, Hon. Peter Julius, has promised to prioritize youth development to complement the efforts of Governor Agbu Kefas.

Julius also pledged to collaborate with relevant agencies and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to boost the agricultural potential of Lau and make it the economic hub of Taraba State.
He made the promise during the final round of his campaign rally in Lau town on Friday.
According to him, youth development through skills training and empowerment would help reduce crime and stimulate economic growth in the area.

“My intention is to prioritise youth development through skills training and talent promotion in sports to complement the efforts of Governor Agbu Kefas’ administration.
We believe youth development is key to achieving a crime-free society that will pave the way for sustainable growth and development,” Julius said.
“My desire is to boost the agricultural status of Lau LGA and make it the economic hub of Taraba State. I will collaborate with relevant agencies and NGOs to ensure the availability of necessary tools and agrochemicals to achieve this target,” he added.
Earlier, the Lau Local Government PDP Chairman, Hon. Ibrahim Ezekiel, and the Director-General of the Peter Julius Campaign Organisation, Mr. Absolom Simon Sayonti, appealed to residents of the area to vote massively for Hon. Julius to complement Governor Kefas’ developmental strides at the grassroots.
Meanwhile, an elder statesman in the local government, Mr. Philip Kondila, and the immediate past Commissioner for Works, Hon. Ibrahim Haman Jude, expressed confidence that Hon. Julius would bring about unprecedented development never witnessed among council chairmen in Taraba State.
Periscope Nigeria reports that the PDP candidate presented a complete set of football jerseys and two FIFA-approved balls to Win-Lau FC as part of his youth engagement initiatives.
