The promotions included three Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACP) elevated to the rank of Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), and nine Superintendents of Police (SP) promoted to the rank of Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP).

Those promoted from ACP to DCP are U. M. Ogoche, Commanding Officer, 59 Police Mobile Force (PMF); Abubakar Dahiru Auna, Assistant Commissioner of Police (Operations); and Abubakar Sabo Giade, Area Commander, Bajoga.

The officers promoted from SP to CSP are Tijjani Usaini Ringim, Command Finance Officer; Thomas Umedi, Command Legal Officer; Salisu Abdul Ibrahim Ningi, Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Deba Division; Nura Muhammad Suleiman, DPO, Dukku Division; Lazarus Yalbi Salatiel, Divisional Crime Officer, Shongom Division; Ibrahim Musa Dayi, Admin Officer, 34 PMF; Abdulrasheed El-Rufa’i; and Tobias S. Addressing the officers, CP Chuso described the promotions as well-deserved, noting that they reflected years of dedication, discipline and meritorious service.
“This promotion is a recognition of your hard work, professionalism and commitment to duty,” he said. “It should be seen as a call to higher responsibility, leadership and service to the Nigerian people.”

He urged the newly promoted officers to uphold the highest standards of integrity, discipline and professionalism in the discharge of their duties, adding that the Nigeria Police Force expected more commitment from them at their new levels.
The Commissioner also highlighted the welfare-driven reforms of the Inspector-General of Police, saying they were aimed at motivating personnel and improving operational effectiveness.
“The IGP, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, remains deeply committed to the welfare, motivation and well-being of officers and men of the Force,” Chuso said. “These reforms are designed to boost morale and ensure that officers are adequately supported to deliver quality policing services to the public.”
The event was attended by the Deputy Speaker of the Gombe State House of Assembly, Hon. Sadam Bello Sale; the Emir of Funakaye, Alhaji Yakubu Muhammad Kwairanga IV; representatives of the Funakaye Local Government Council; members of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC); families of the promoted officers, and members of the press.
Speaking on behalf of the promotees, DCP U. M. Ogoche expressed gratitude to the Inspector-General of Police and the Police Service Commission for the confidence reposed in them.
“We appreciate the trust placed in us, and we assure the Nigeria Police Force and the people of Gombe State that we will continue to serve with professionalism, dedication and commitment,” he said.
