The wedding ceremony of Joshua, son of a renowned legal luminary and Justice of the Court of Appeal, Abuja Division, Hon. Justice Hamma Barka, to his heartthrob, Miss Blessing Adamu Kala, was held in a colourful and spiritually uplifting atmosphere at the Reconciliation Centre, Fashola Housing Estate, Kano Road, Gombe, Gombe State.



The event attracted eminent personalities from across the judiciary, government, clergy and other walks of life, with the Deputy Governor of Gombe State, Dr Manassah Daniel Jatau, attending as both the Special Guest of Honour and Father of the Day, lending great prestige to the occasion.





Speaking in his capacity as Special Guest of Honour, Jatau congratulated the parents of both the bride and groom for nurturing their children with strong moral and spiritual values that have culminated in the solemnisation of a holy matrimony.

He described the wedding as a historic milestone, not only for the families involved but also for the larger society.
Dr Jatau commended the couple for taking the bold and responsible step of beginning their conjugal journey in accordance with Christian principles, urging them to remain steadfast in love, faith and mutual understanding.

He emphasised that the family remains the bedrock of society, noting that godly and well-structured families are essential for building a peaceful, stable and prosperous society.

The deputy governor further highlighted the multiplier effect of strong families, stressing that responsible homes produce disciplined citizens who contribute positively to societal development and good governance, ultimately working for the good of all.

In his role as Father of the Day, Jatau presented a heartfelt vote of thanks, appreciating the presence of Justices of the Court of Appeal and other distinguished guests, including former Chief Judges of Gombe State Justice Hakika Heman, Justice Joseph Ahmed Awak,Justice Beatrice Lazarus Iliya, and Justice Daurabu Sikkam as well as other dignitaries and clergymen.

He prayed that God would richly reward them for honouring the occasion and grant them journey mercies back to their destinations.
The solemnisation of the marriage was officiated by the Senior Minister of the Church, Pastor Dr Chris Lema, who charged the couple to uphold Christian virtues and allow godly principles to guide their home.
Delivering the sermon, Rev. Kodun Siga of ECWA Church, Orji Housing Estate, took his text from John 3:16, 1 John 3:16, and Isaiah 29:13, speaking on the theme “What Is the Proof of Your Love?”
Siaga explained that genuine love seeks to give more than is expected, noting that in Christian marriage, proofs of love include the ring, self-sacrifice and shared possessions. While acknowledging human vulnerability, he stressed that the grace of God sustains marriage, calling on couples to continually acknowledge their shortcomings and seek God’s help.
The President of the Court of Appeal, Hon. Justice Monica Dongban-Mensem, who was represented by Justice Yargata Byenchit Nimpher, who congratulated the parents and the couple, prayed for God’s abiding blessings upon the newlyweds.
The wedding ceremony later climaxed with a grand reception at the International Conference Centre, Bauchi Road, Gombe, where guests were treated to sumptuous meals and warm hospitality.
At the reception, dignitaries including the Speaker of the Gombe State House of Assembly, Hon. Abubakar Mohammed Luggerewo, the Chief Judge of Gombe State, Justice Halima Mohammed Shamaki, and former Deputy Governor, Barrister Joshua Lidani, congratulated the families and the couple. They advised the newlywed to imbibe the virtues of prayer, patience and the fear of God for a successful marriage.
The Chairman of the occasion, Justice Ambi Gutsi Danjuma of the Court of Appeal, welcomed guests and urged them to fully enjoy the celebration while supporting the success of the reception and the future of the couple.
The wedding stood as a remarkable convergence of faith, family values and public service, underscoring the enduring importance of godly homes in building a better society.
