The end-of-year cultural festival organised by the Hinna Youth Forum received a major boost as Senator Idris A. Umar attended the colourful event and made a generous donation aimed at addressing the persistent problem of inadequate water supply in Hinna community.
The well-attended festival took place at the palace of Alhaji Idris Isah Ngurkuma III, the District Head of Hinna, and attracted community leaders, youths, elders, and guests from neighbouring communities.
Speaking at the event, Senator Idris A. Umar commended the Hinna Youth Forum for organising a peaceful and culturally rich festival that promotes unity, tradition, and community development. He described youths as key partners in grassroots development and urged them to remain committed to positive engagement and collective progress.
In a show of support for the community, the Senator announced a significant financial donation to assist in tackling the long-standing challenge of water shortage in Hinna. He noted that access to clean and safe water is a basic necessity and assured the people that their concerns are heard and taken seriously.
“This intervention is to support efforts toward improving water supply in Hinna. Water is life, and no community should suffer from lack of it,” the Senator said, while calling for transparency and collaboration in utilizing the funds for the intended purpose.
The leadership of the Hinna Youth Forum expressed deep appreciation to the Senator for honouring their invitation and for his timely intervention. They described the donation as a major step toward easing the hardship faced by residents, especially women and children who bear the burden of water scarcity.
