Taraba gov quits PDP, joins APC
By Terna Chikpa, Jalingo
Taraba State Governor, Dr Agbu Kefas, on Sunday officially quit his membership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and registered with the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Performing the registration ceremony at the T.Y. Danjuma House in Jalingo, Kefas said a public ceremony to formally announce his defection would be scheduled soon.
Nigerian Tribune reports that Kefas is the first governor of Taraba State to defect from the PDP since 1999.
The newspaper also reports that the governor had earlier explained that his decision to join the APC was to enable him align with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and attract more development to Taraba State.
Our correspondent reports that the governor was registered by Taraba State APC executives, represented by the Deputy Chairman, alongside APC executives from Wukari Local Government Area and Hospital Ward.
