A married woman, Mrs Ramatu Abbas of Donga LGA in Taraba state who allegedly attacked a 17-year-old girl, identified as Iwasen Terhemba, with razor blade has been remanded to Wukari correctional centre till further notice.

The Police PPRO Victor Mshelizah told PERISCOPE NIGERIA that the development followed a directive from the state Commissioner of Police.
According to the PPRO, the Commissioner has also directed the Donga Divisional police officer to ensure the arrest of Ramatu’s husband, and all those threatening to chase the girl’s guardian out of the family house if the case is not withdrawn for home settlement.
“The family of the attacker were threatening that if the case is not withdrawn for home settlement, they will send both the victim and her guardian out of the family house. Thank God, the commissioner of police has directed that the attacker be remanded to prison.
“The chief magistrate in Donga is not around. Mrs. Ramatu Abbas will remain in the prison till the magistrate return, while the husband and his associate would soon be arrested to avert threat to both the victim and her guardian,” he updated.
PERISCOPE NIGERIA reports that Mrs Ramatu Abbas had attacked a 17-year-old Iwasen Terhemba, with razor blade, over suspicion that the teenager was having an affair with her husband Mr Abbas.
Local sources have also told our correspondent that Mr Abbas, husband to the attacker had persistently advanced the teenage for relationship but the 17-year-old declined, citing her age and his marital status.
According to investigation the man’s wife (Ramatu), later became aware of the alleged advances and began issuing verbal threats against the girl.
Meanwhile, guardian to the teenager, Mrs. Jemila Savalla Wanga, reportedly approached the woman to explain that her husband had been persistently harassing the minor and urged her to caution him.
However, Mrs Ramatu Abbas later went to the girl’s house and attacked her with a razor blade, leaving injuries on her face.
