The Federal Fire Service (FFS), Gombe State Command, on Wednesday confirmed that property worth about ₦10 million was saved following a fire outbreak at Kagarawal Quarters, opposite the District Head’s residence in Gombe.

The incident, which occurred in the area served by the ATM Fire Operations Base, prompted an immediate response from firefighters led by Assistant Superintendent of Fire (ASF) Waziri James Anthony.

Confirming the development, the Public Relations Officer of the Command, ASF Bashir Mu’azu, said the team arrived at the scene promptly and professionally brought the situation under control.

“Our officers responded swiftly to the distress call and were able to contain the inferno before it escalated into a major disaster,” Mu’azu stated. “Through timely intervention, we successfully salvaged valuables and prevented the fire from spreading to adjoining structures.”

He commended the оперативность and professionalism of the firefighting team, noting that their quick action averted what could have resulted in significant losses.

The Command urged residents to prioritise safety by strictly observing fire prevention measures and ensuring early reporting of fire incidents.

“We call on members of the public to always take proactive safety measures and promptly alert the Fire Service at the first sign of any outbreak,” Mu’azu added.
