The Governor of Taraba State, Agbu Kefas, has commended Bola Tinubu for appointing Olatunji Disu as the acting Inspector-General of Police (IGP).
In a press statement signed by Hon. Emmanuel Bello, Special Adviser on Media and Digital Communications, the governor described the President’s decision as a step toward strengthening Nigeria’s security architecture.
The statement quoted Governor Kefas as describing the Acting IGP as a consummate police officer who rose through the ranks by merit, hard work, and commitment.
“President Bola Tinubu has made a great choice by appointing an experienced and dedicated officer who has proven his capacity in all his assignments.
“I am convinced that the choice of Disu is one that will strengthen the security architecture of the country. Tunji Disu is a consummate police officer who rose through the ranks through hard work and commitment,” Governor Kefas said.
The governor, while pledging his commitment to tackling insecurity in Taraba State, expressed hope that the new police chief would add value to ongoing efforts to ensure the safety of Nigerians and the nation at large.
“I wish to assure the new IGP of my unwavering partnership with the police to continue to make Taraba State safe for its citizens,” the governor assured.
Governor Kefas also commended the immediate past IGP, Kayode Egbetokun, for his selfless service to the country.
He stated that the former IGP worked harmoniously with all partners to enhance security nationwide and urged the Acting IGP to sustain the same commitment.
