Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, on Saturday congratulated Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda and other members of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on their emergence at the party’s just-concluded National Convention in Abuja.
Prof. Yilwatda and the NWC members were unanimously adopted through a consensus arrangement and formally affirmed by delegates at the convention, a development Governor Inuwa Yahaya described as a clear demonstration of unity and internal cohesion within the ruling party.
Yahaya in a press statement signed by Ismaila Misilli, Director-General Press Affairs Gombe Government House.
The Governor portrayed the new APC National Chairman as a thoroughbred politician with the right mix of vibrancy, intellect, vision and character required to reposition the party for greater success.
“Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda represents the new face of progressive leadership. He is dynamic, forward-looking, and deeply grounded in the ideals that define our great party.
His election to continue as APC National Chairman reflects the party’s readiness to evolve, reform and remain responsive to the aspirations of Nigerians,” he said.
Governor Inuwa Yahaya noted that the party chairman brings to the role a unique blend of academic excellence, bureaucratic depth and political maturity, further strengthened by his performance during his initial months of stewardship.
He expressed confidence that Yilwatda’s leadership, coupled with his strong grasp of technology and innovation, would inject renewed energy into the party and consolidate its position as Nigeria’s dominant political platform.

The Governor added that the emergence of the new NWC signals a decisive shift towards consolidation and a more inclusive leadership for the APC, one capable of strengthening internal democracy, deepening party discipline, and delivering on its mandate to Nigerians.
He called on party stakeholders, leaders, and members across the country to rally behind the new leadership to sustain unity, ensure stability and secure continued electoral victories, particularly as the nation gradually builds toward the 2027 general elections.

Governor Inuwa Yahaya, who is also the Renewed Hope Ambassador and Secretary for Party Outreach and Engagement, used the occasion to commend President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, as the leader of the party, for providing exceptional guidance and direction that ensured the success of the convention.
He described the President’s role as pivotal in engendering consensus, strengthening party structures and steering the APC toward greater cohesion and dominance.
