Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, on Sunday reiterated his administration’s unwavering commitment to strengthening security across the state, emphasizing that the protection of lives and property remains a top priority of his administration.

The Governor made the assertion while receiving the Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, who paid him the traditional Sallah homage at the Government House, alongside a delegation of District Heads and other members of the emirate council.

This was contained in a statement by the governor’s Spokesperson, Sanusi Dawakin Tofa in Kano on Sunday.

“We are committed to strengthning security across the 44 local government areas of the state as security remains the top priority of our government,” Gov Yusuf said.

Represented by the Speaker of Kano State House of Assembly, Isma’il Jibril Falgore, Governor Yusuf noted that his administration recognizes the critical role of peace and stability in driving sustainable development.

He assured that proactive measures are being implemented to enhance security architecture, strengthen collaboration with security agencies, and promote community-based initiatives aimed at curbing crime and maintaining law and order across Kano State.

The Governor urged parents to focus on properly raising their children in order to build a society filled with good values and to produce responsible and exemplary leaders in the future.

He further commended the Emir and the traditional institution for their continuous support in fostering unity, peaceful coexistence, and effective communication between the government and the grassroots.

In his remarks, the Emir, Muhammadu Sanusi II, commended the state government for achieving unprecedented feats in the education sector, and urged for more in the areas of health and youth empowerment.

The monarch who reaffirmed the commitment of the traditional institution to supporting government efforts in maintaining peace and stability, pledged continued cooperation in mobilizing communities and promoting values that discourage criminal activities and social unrest.

The Sallah homage, a longstanding symbolizing mutual respect and cooperation between the government and traditional authorities, also provided an opportunity for both parties to exchange views on matters of governance, security, and the overall well-being of the people of the State.
