The Vice-Chancellor of Gombe State University, Professor Sani Ahmed Yauta, has inspected ongoing projects at the clinical arm of the University’s College of Medical Sciences as part of efforts to ensure timely completion and adherence to quality standards.

The projects inspected include the construction of new laboratories and a student hostel designed to strengthen teaching, research, and accommodation facilities within the College.

According to a statement issued by the Public Relations Office of the University and signed by Hadu N. Ligari, the Vice-Chancellor during the visit urged the contractor to strictly adhere to the approved project timelines while maintaining the required standards and specifications.

Professor Yauta emphasized that the projects are critical to the University’s academic development, noting that their completion will significantly enhance teaching, research activities, and student welfare within the clinical arm of the College of Medical Sciences.

In a related development, the Vice-Chancellor also visited the Faculty of Agriculture located in Malam Sidi to assess ongoing construction and restructuring works aimed at meeting the academic and operational needs of the Faculty.

While expressing satisfaction with the level of progress recorded so far, Professor Yauta commended the contractors handling the projects for their efforts.

He, however, urged them to expedite work to ensure the facilities are ready for use, particularly as the University has already admitted the pioneer set of students into the Faculty.

He added that academic activities for the newly admitted students are expected to commence immediately after the upcoming Eid al‑Fitr break.

Officials who accompanied the Vice-Chancellor during the inspection at the College of Medical Sciences included the Director of Physical Planning, QS Murtala Salisu, and the Provost of the College of Medical Sciences, Professor Joshua Abubakar Difa.

During the visit to the Faculty of Agriculture in Malam Sidi, the Vice-Chancellor was also accompanied by the Director of Physical Planning, QS Murtala Salisu, and the Head of the Department of Animal Science and Coordinator of the Artificial Insemination and Breed Multiplication Centre, Professor Haruna A. Alkali.
