The Forum of Secretaries to Government of the 19 northern states on 𝑆unday convened in Kaduna to draw up an agenda for the meeting of their principals scheduled for Monday, March 30, 2026.

The meeting, held at the General Hassan Katsina House, is being chaired by Secretary to Gombe of Gombe,
Professor Ibrahim Njodi.

Speaking at the opening session, Prof. Njodi welcomed his colleagues and commended their dedication to public service.
“Your unwavering commitment to service to your respective states and to the country at large is highly commendable,” he said.
He noted that the appointment of a substantive Director-General for the Northern States Governors’ Forum (NSGF) was part of broader reforms aimed at strengthening policy delivery across the region.
“The appointment of a substantive Director-General is part of ongoing efforts by the Governors’ Forum to deepen the delivery of policies and programmes that directly impact the lives of our people,” Njodi stated.
The chairman also formally welcomed the newly appointed Director-General of the NSGF, Ezekiel Gomos, describing him as an experienced administrator.
“We congratulate you on your well-deserved appointment. You are a seasoned administrator with a wealth of experience,” he added.
Njodi assured the Director-General of the SSGs’ commitment to collaboration in advancing the objectives of the Governors’ Forum.
“The SGS’ of the 19 Northern States will continue to work in partnership to complement, improve and enhance the overall policy direction of the Northern States Governors’ Forum,” he said.
He further urged sustained engagement between the Director-General and the SSGs.
“We encourage you to continuously interface with this Forum to realise the lofty goals of the Northern States Governors’ Forum, particularly in improving socio-economic and infrastructural development across the North,” he said.
In his remarks, the Director-General of the NSGF, Ezekiel Gomos, expressed appreciation for the opportunity to serve and acknowledged the importance of the SSGs’ Forum.
“The role of the SGS’ Forum is critically important to the formulation and implementation of policies and programmes for the benefit of our people,” he said.
Gomos called for patience and cooperation in efforts to advance development in the region.
“I appeal for patience and tolerance as we work together towards a better and more prosperous North and Nigeria as a whole,” he stated.
He also assured of strong collaboration with the SSGs to ensure effective policy implementation.
“We are committed to robust collaboration to ensure the smooth implementation of policies and programmes as outlined by the Governors’ Forum,” he added.
