The Governor of Abia State, Dr Alex Otti, has congratulated the immediate past governor of the state, Dr. Okezie Victor Ikpeazu, on his appointment as Nigeria’s Ambassador to Spain.
The message was conveyed in a statement issued by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Publicity, Ferdinand Ekeoma.
In a goodwill message, Otti described the appointment as a recognition of Ikpeazu’s capacity to serve the country at a higher diplomatic level.
He said, “Your appointment as Nigeria’s Ambassador to Spain presents another opportunity for you to serve our great nation while protecting and promoting the interests of Nigerians in Spain.”
The governor also expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the appointment of Ikpeazu and other ambassadors, urging the Federal Government to provide them with the necessary support to succeed in their assignments.
“I thank President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for finding our brother worthy of this important national assignment. I also urge the Federal Government to give him and other newly appointed ambassadors the needed support to enable them deliver effectively in their diplomatic responsibilities,” Otti said.
The governor further wished the former Abia governor a successful and impactful tenure.
“On behalf of my family, the government and the good people of Abia State, I wish Dr. Ikpeazu a fruitful and impactful service to the nation,” he added.
