Staff of Taraba State University, Jalingo, comprising academic and non-academic workers, have accepted the N500 million offer made by Governor Agbu Kefas to suspend the ongoing industrial action.

Dr. Joshua Garba Mbave, Chairman of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Taraba State University chapter, told Nigerian Tribune on Monday that the staff had conditionally accepted the offer and would sign an agreement with the state government.

“We have accepted the N500 million offer by Governor Agbu Kefas, but on the condition that an agreement is signed with the government. We must be sure that the governor is going to keep to his promises.

“We will call off the strike as soon as the agreement is signed.

“I also wish to make it clear that the N500 million is not only for ASUU; it is for both academic and non-academic staff,” Dr. Mbave said.
