Support groups loyal to the Bauchi State governorship hopeful, Dr Yakubu Adamu, have declared “total, unconditional and resolute” loyalty and support for Governor Bala Mohammed as consultations on political realignments intensify.

The groups led by Dr. Yakubu Adamu Contact Committee and allied Political Movement Groups announced the position Wednesday in a press statement signed by Hon. Mahmoud Abba Yana, former Executive Chairman of Shira Local Government Area, who signed “on behalf of the groups.

The declaration comes amid speculation over possible party shift by the governor who is currently in the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

The groups said they were addressing “recent political developments and consultations” involving the governor.

They expressed loyalty to the governor wherever he decides to join among the political parties insisting that he remains their political leader and guardian.

“At this critical moment in our political journey, we find it necessary to reaffirm our unwavering loyalty, deep respect and total solidarity with His Excellency, whose leadership has continued to inspire confidence, unity and purposeful governance across Bauchi State and beyond.

“As a visionary leader and statesman, his decisions are always guided by the overriding interest of peace, progress and prosperity of our people.

“In view of the ongoing political realignments and strategic consultations nationwide, we wish to state clearly and without ambiguity that: Dr. Yakubu Adamu and all his Political Movement Groups stand firmly with His Excellency, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammad, in any political decision he may take, including his choice to align with or join any political party of his preference,” they said.
